Description

Sole Source Justification for Spectral Energies. BROADBAND DYE LASER. The solicitation number is FA8601-09-T-0122. The NAICS Code is 334510. The size standard is 500 employees. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The proposed source is Spectral Energies, LLC. The purchase is for a Broadband Dye Laser system and training. Spectral Energies is the only company that sells the CARS system as a commercial product. This is a highly customized system and requires extensive knowledge of the ultrafast spectroscopy system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
