Description
Construct a commercial vehicle access control point. Work will include a deceleration lane, gatehouse, vehicle search area and inspection house, guard and over watch booths, traffic control barriers, pedestrian access, entry lanes, turn-around lane, traffic signals and signage, vehicle resistant security fencing with cable reinforcement, active and passive barriers, a backup generator, and site lighting. Supporting facilities include all utilities, parking, sidewalks, signage, information systems and site improvements. Heating and air conditioning (approximately 8 tons) will be provided by self contained units. Accessibility for individuals with disabilities will be provided in public access areas. Antiterrorism measures include vehicle control barriers, laminated glass, mass notification, and security fencing which are included in the project cost. Installation of intrusion detection system (IDS) is also included. This project is required to provide initial security screening for commercial vehicles entering the installation. These facilities are required to provide screening in accordance with the Department of the Installation Access Control Program Standards. The following functions will be performed at this access control point; vehicle entrance screening, personnel identification validation, visitor control, and vehicle search and inspection. The estimated design and construction cost of this project is between $5,000,000 and $7,000,000.
