- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER W91YTZ-10-R-0001. The United States Army Medical Command Contracting Center North Atlantic (NARCO) has a requirement for Hospital Housekeeping Services at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC. The requirement is to furnish all labor, supervision, management support, transportation, equipment, materials and supplies (except as will be specified as Government-furnished) to provide custodial services for the following Hospital In-Patient wards: Pediatric, Psychiatry, Orthopedics, Neuroscience, Gynecology, Oncology, Urology, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Short Stay Unit, General Surgery Vascular /ENT, Hematology, Oncology, VIP, General Medicine and Sleep Disorders Center. All the wards are located at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) and encompass approximately 38,000 square feet of space. The operation of this facility is twenty-four hours/day, seven days a week; and it is envisioned that contractor staff shall be available on all shifts. The work of the contractor is required to encompass Steadfast Policing. By which the Government means the repetitive checking and continuous cleaning of heavily trafficked areas to ensure they are maintained as cleaned continuously, through the clean-up of papers, soiled surfaces, any debris; removing spills, vomit, spots and marks from walls, and all other areas, including public restrooms, corridors, elevators, waiting rooms, walkways, entrances, floors, carpets, and furniture. The work of the contractor will also encompass Total Disinfection Cleaning. By which the Government means the requirement to clean thoroughly and make germ-free every surface which patients and the public normally come into contact with in the areas named above. The work of the contractor is required to encompass Type III Housekeeping Services. By which the Government means services that are rendered in public restrooms, patient rooms/wards (to include restrooms), sleep rooms and terminal discharge units. Type III services shall be required on all shifts, seven days per week. The Government also requires that the contractors response time to clean or re-clean an area shall be within 10 minutes of Government notification. The Government has determined that this requirement is set-aside for Section 8(a) procurement.
