Description
This contract action was not awarded as a fixed price type because uncertainties involved in contract performance did not permit costs to be estimated with sufficient accuracy to use any type of fixed price contract. As such, a cost-reimbursement type action was awarded (FAR 16.301-2). RECOVERY PER FAR 5.7, THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE CONTRACTOR UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER: R&D Maintenance Services, Inc, W91278-09-C-0020, Operations and Maintenance of Government Owned Facilities and Equipment on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in AL and MS. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded modification P00008 against the basic Cost plus Award Fee Contract W91278-06-C-0052. This contract action was not awarded as a fixed price type because uncertainties involved in contract performance did not permit cost to be estimated with sufficient accuracy to use any type of fixed price contract. As such, a cost reimbursement type action was awarded. Furthermore :) This work is part of the existing specifications and a detailed scope of work can not be prepared. The extent of the work and the resources needed cannot be fully determined due to the growth patterns of this invasive grass species. This contract enables work to begin immediately after and even during the inspections without a detailed scope of work so as to minimize the growth and spreading of this grass species. Modification P00008 is funded by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds and all clauses apply.
