- Description
- NOAA's Marine Engineering Division has a requirement for dockside repairs to the NOAA ship KA'IMIMOANA. The contractor shall provide all facilities, supervision, material, and labor necessary to perform modifications, repairs, and preservation to the NOAA ship KA'IMIMOANA. The dockside repair shall be accomplished at the contractor's facility. Performance of work is tentatively scheduled to begin in May 2010 and be completed no later than the end of June 2010, with specific period of performance dates to be announced at the time of the issuance of the solicitation. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this procurement is 336611 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. The work consists of approximately 9 basic items, and 6 option items, any of which are subject to change at the Government's discretion upon issuance of the solicitation. BASIC REQUIREMENTS may include, but are not limited to: General Requirements for Work and Temporary Services; Provide ABS Inspection Assistance; Accomplish Main Propulsion Generator Engine Top End Overhauls; Stack House Repairs; Ventilation Systems Repairs and Modifications; Reroute Sewage Overboard Discharge Piping; Midship Deck Crane Replacement; Install Refrigeration Storage Shelves and Install Dry Stores Storage Shelves. OPTION REQUIREMENTS may include, but are not limited to: Calibrate Generator Gages; Install CTD Winch Control Station Enclosure; Install Work Boat Stowage Platform; Modify/Rearrange Mess Deck; Repair Mission Deck Hatches and Additional Government Requirements. General Vessel specifications: Length (LOA): 224 ft.; Breadth 43 ft.; Draft 15.0 ft.; and Displacement: 2,301 tons. All responsible and fully responsive sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency. Any resulting contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price contract. Solicitation documents will be made available for download on or around November 1, 2009 at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be issued.
