RECOVERY - This is not an invitation for bids or request for porposals, but, instead an announcement to provide contractors an opportunity to plan for future solicitations envisioned for the Forest Service's Flathead National Forest, which is located in the northwest quadrant of Montana bordering Canada and the Glasier National Park. 2010 ARRA Projects Flathead National Forest The Flathead National Forest will be soliciting for numerous construction, service, and supply contracts throughout Fiscal Year (October, 2009-September, 2010) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Instructions for contractors regarding how to business with the government, registering, and submitting bids are located on the Flathead National Forest’s web site at www.fs.fed.us/r1/flathead/ To assure contractors have the opportunity to view the construction site before they become inaccessible because of snow, this pre- solicitation listing and map are provided. Projects will be advertised on www.fbo.gov. Contractor’s questions may be directed to Earl Applekamp at 406.758.5268. These project narratives are only a brief description of the scope of. each contractual requirement. Each solicitation will have specific work descriptions, including quantities and other pertinent information required to submit bids, or proposals. Be advised also that each project will be synopsized in the www.fbo.gov website at least 15 days prior to issuing another announcement in this website, which will be the invitation to submit bids or proposals, which again, will allow a minimum of 30 days to prepare and submit bids or proposals. Contractors are encouraged to investigate some of Forest Service’s Fiscal year 2010 projects by visiting the Flathead National Forest website which contains more details, including maps of project areas, and other relevant information, which may be helpful in planning the entire fiscal year 2010 (October 1, 2009 to September 30, 2010) proposal/bid preparation activities.
