- Description
- Contractor shall provide all labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation, and qualified supervision to perform the project BUILDING 2A ADDITION FOR IMAGING/MRI (DESIGN/BUILD) at the VA Medical Center, Salem, Virginia. This procurement is 100% set-aside for qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses who have proven experience in the design/build process, hospital renovation and general construction. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for an addition to B/2A for a new Imaging/MRI and Emergency Department expansion. The exterior worksite is located at the interface of B/2 and B/2A, on the north side. Work shall include the survey of the existing conditions/space, and the preparation of design drawings and working construction drawings for the site, architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical aspects of the project. The Contractor shall perform the construction of his completed design. The VA will furnish the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment drawings for the Contractor to perform the building site prep design for housing this new MRI. The building addition shall interconnect with the existing conventional MRI suite located on the basement level of B/2. The other side of the new building addition shall interconnect with the existing B/2A Emergency Dept. The types of work to be performed by the Contractor include: site survey, underground utility relocations, excavation, grading, concrete footings, concrete floor slab, demolition, resilient/sheet-vinyl/computer access flooring; metal studs, wood furring, copper magnetic wall shielding, drywall, painting, acoustical ceilings, door/frames/hardware, viewing windows, misc. steel wall/ceiling supports, air terminal units, fan coil units, ductwork, HVAC piping, insulation, building automation controls, air/water testing & balancing, toilet fixtures, plumbing pipe, electrical conduit/wiring/circuit breakers/switches, light fixtures, flashing/roofing, concrete curbs/sidewalk/pavement, asphalt pavement. as required by drawings and specifications.
