Responses are due no later than 3:00 p.m. eastern standard time October 23, 2009. This is a Sources Sought Notice and is for informational purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, requests capability statements from 8(a) certified contractors, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses (SDVOB), HUBZone certified contractors and small businesses, concerning the potential landscaping project described below. Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. Responses are to be sent via email to carlen.capenos@usace.army.mil no later than 3:30 p.m. eastern standard time by the date above. Project Description: In support BRAC 2005, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District seeks qualified landscaping contractors to replace trees that were removed by BRAC 2005 projects at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The work is to be completed in fiscal years 2010 and 2011 and 2012 with options for two additional years. Baltimore District plans to award a multi-year, service type task order contract (TOC) to a implement a re-vegetation plan being developed by others. The conceptual scope of work associated with the re-vegetation plan includes a variety of planting treatments at multiple areas on Fort Belvoir. Planting treatments range from traditional streetscape plantings, to tree seedling plantings, meadow grass plantings and other as appropriate given the unique characteristics of each area. In total, up to 100,000 seedlings may be required. The selected contractor would be responsible for furnishing, installing and assuring establishment of the plant material. Task orders would be issued on a schedule developed with the contractor based on lead times required to grow the plant material and time of year planting restrictions. The total contract value is currently estimated at $3-$4million. Interested 8(a) certified firms, SDVOBs, HUBZone certified firms and small businesses should submit a narrative demonstrating their qualifications to perform work as described above. These statements should include the following information: summary of qualifications, details of similar work experience including dates of performance and references with contact information. Comments will be shared with the Government and the project design team, but otherwise will be held in strict confidence. Comments may be in a format as chosen by each offeror, but must include the offerors name, phone number, and email address.
