Description
Synopsis Objective: This notice is a Sources Sought Announcement. There is no solicitation available at this time. This announcement is an attempt to qualify multiple sources for HMMWV Runflat application. This device will then be the only device and will phase out all prior run flat applications made available for all HMMWVs. Synopsis: This notice is intended to qualify multiple sources and phase out all previous HMMWV Runflat devices. Currently the 3 (three) Runflat NSNs are 2640011612114-Magnesium Runflat, 2640013349453-Runflat for Radial or Bias Tire and 2640014196202-Runflat for Radial Tire (only). The U.S. Armys High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) is approaching an increased weight minimum of 15,400 lbs. Solutions must be applicable and adaptable to the military environment. This environment includes extreme ambient operating conditions from -50 degrees to 135 degrees Fahrenheit, as well as increased weight; 4,540 lbs (T), 5,000 lbs (O) per corner. Proposed technologies must be at a Military Hardware Technical Readiness Level 8 or greater. This opportunity does not guarantee selection for award of any contracts or other agreements, nor is it to be construed as commitment by the Government to pay for their information solicited. It is expected that the vendors selected would provide, at no cost to the Government, technical data, proposal input, project schedules, and cost estimates. Vendor qualifications include a current Cage Code and must be CCR and JCP registered. Vendor selections will be made by the Government based on relevant experience, past performance, and technical capability. Response Instructions: All vendor responses are required to complete the questionnaire by 2009 NOV 04. Please send all questionnaire responses to Jeff.Schram@amgeneral.com, or brian.schmidt@amgeneral.com or Giovanna.rosbury@us.army.mil.
