Description
To: All Requestors of the Prospectus for a Concession Business Opportunity for Marina, Merchandise, and Food and Beverage Operations within Amistad National Recreation Area. Re:Responses to Questions, CC-AMIS002-10 Below please find the National Park Service's responses to questions submitted for the Prospectus for a Concession Business Opportunity for Marina, Merchandise, and Food and Beverage Operations within Amistad National Recreation Area. 1. Is there a master development plan for the Amistad National Recreation Area? The General Management Plan was completed in 2007. It provides general information for the future of the NRA for the next 20-25 years. It may be found at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/. 2. If so, does it address the maximum number of boat slips allowed on Lake Amistad? No, the General Management Plan does not address the maximum number of slips allowed on Lake Amistad as it is a general plan and does not address specific activities. 3. Why is the Contract for only 10 years? Public Law 105-391 (Appendix 1 in the Prospectus) states that a concession contract will be for 10 years or less unless the Secretary determines a longer term is necessary. 4. Why are there minimums and maximums on the rental houseboats and power boats? There is no minimum number of rental boats in the contract; however, the maximum number was determined based on lake levels, the size of the marinas, the current rental fleet and the financial impact of a larger fleet on the viability of the contract. 5. What is exactly included in the Other Property/Inventory listed at $349,147? Appendix 5 (included in the Prospectus) provides an estimated list of all other property and inventory valued at $349,147. 6. Can the Concessioner impose fees in the form of penalties for noncompliance of mooring agreements e.g. for violations of lengths of stays and for illegal sewage dumping? No, the Concessioner may not impose penalties in the form of fees for noncompliance. If you have any questions, please contact Jacque Lavelle, Chief of Concessions at jacque_lavelle@nps.gov or at (303) 969-2661 Sincerely, Michael D.
