- This is a Sources Sought Notice ONLY. This is not a request for quote, but a survey to locate potential sources. The US Bureau of Reclamation, Yuma Area Office (YAO), is performing a market survey to determine if there are an adequate number of interested and qualified firms having the capability to provide a Vertical Sunshade Canopy Structure. All interested firms should submit a response to this office by email or fax by 4:00 p.m., Mountain Time, October 22, 2009. Responses shall include:1. Business name, address, point of contact and business size and type (8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran, small business). For this requirement, the anticipated NAICS code is 332919 and the applicable size standard is 500 employees.2. A capability statement that demonstrates the firm's ability, capability, and responsibility to perform the principal components of work listed in the below Statement of Work (SOW). SCOPEThe Contractor shall provide all manpower, tools, material, supplies, equipment and transportation necessary to install vertical shading on an existing structure. LOCATIONThe U.S. Bureau of Reclamation's Yuma Area Office (YAO) complex along with the Yuma Desalting Plant (YDP) is located at 7301 Calle Agua Salada, Yuma, Arizona. The YDP is a 60 acre plant located approximately 4.5 miles west of the City of Yuma. The proposed vertical shading in on an existing structure located on the northwest corner of the Desalting facility. The vertical shade structures shall be provided by the Contractor on the East, West and South sides only. REQUIREMENTSVERTICAL SUNSHADE CANOPY STRUCTUREThe Contractor shall provide a complete vertical sunshade canopy system using manufacturer's standard components including corrosion resistant steel framing and sunshade fabric. The framing system shall be designed as an ordinary moment-resisiting frame with vertical and horizontal bracing, as required. Due to local conditions, there should be a wind load of 80 mph (minimum). Additional design standards that must be met include:AISC LRFD Specification for Structural Joints Using ASTM A325 or A490 BoltsAISI Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural MembersAWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code Shop drawings must be submitted by the Contractor that includes the Manufacturer's literature and technical data for corrosion resistant steel framing and sunshade fabric. The Contractor shall submit specifications including paint manufacturer's name, product trade-name, and preparation for shop and field coats. Final color selection of framing and sunshade fabric shall be determined by Government from among manufacturer's standard colors. Sunshade fabric material will be made of high density polyethylene with ultraviolet additives to protect a minimum of 85% against shade and 90% against ultraviolet exposure. Corners shall be reinforced with non-tear materials, and protective webbing will be sewn into all areas where framing or cable members penetrate the fabric. The Contractor shall warranty the fabric material and associated fasteners and structural members for a minimum of 10 years. The Contractor shall obtain all permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals that may be required by, but not limited to, city, state, and county. This Sources Sought Notice is issued for the purpose of market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. All businesses capable of providing this service are invited to respond. Any information provided by industry to the Government as a result of this notice is voluntary.
