Description
RECOVERY The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for a construction project to Rehabilitate Stop Log Structure at the New Bedford Hurricane Barrier, New Bedford, Massachusetts to determine the interest, availability, and capability of Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, 8(a), HUBZone, and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238290. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $500,000. The estimated contract performance period is 270 calendar days. The work of this project includes but is not limited to the following: Replace all rubber seals on all stop gates. Retaining bars must be removed in order to replace and install new seal components. Replace all retaining bars with new bars to match existing dimensions and replace all bolts attaching the retaining bars to the gate structure. Replace any leaf springs (spring steel) that are compressed to a depth of 2 or less from the original 35/16. For those assemblies requiring leaf spring (spring steel) replacement, also replace the base plate, 5/8 diameter bolts, and the plate and the 1x bars at the opposite end of the leaf spring. Replace certain stop gate wheel assembly components for wheels which do not turn freely by hand as determined by the Contracting Officers Representative. This includes the bronze washer and pin. Clean and paint all 35 stop gates and 3 lifting beam. Grease all stop gates and lifting beam wheels and other moving components of the three lifting beams. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications and experience in performing the work requirements stated above. Please include a specific example of the firms relevant experience. Responses are due 28 October 2009. Responses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: Elandria M. Cameron. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
