- FA8601-09-T-0130, Off-Axis Beam Expander DESCRIPTION: Contracting Office: Department of the Air Force, Air Force Material Command, 88 Contracting Squadron, 88 CONS/PKB, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, 45433. Notice of Intent to Award Sole source contract to: Space Optics Research Labs LLC to provide one Off-Axis Laser Beam Expander. Intention: Award a FFP delivery order for the above mentioned items directly with Space Optics Research Labs LLC. The decision to go sole source is because SORL is the only known source that can provide a complete off axis beam expander system which meets the technical requirements of the Engineering Physics department for planned laboratory projects. These requirements include greater than 3.6X Merseinne athermal design featuring tilt, piston, and decentering adjustments. Interested sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement within 5 days after date of publication of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, and no solicitation is available. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Mr. Howard Marks, ASC/AQ, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, 45433, has been appointed as Ombudsman to hear concerns from offerors, or potential offerors, during the proposal development. The purpose of the Ombudsman is to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. Existence of the Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or the contracting officer. Accordingly, the Ombudsman does not participate in the preparation of solicitations, the evaluation of proposals or the source selection process and, therefore, for routine matters on individual solicitations, please contact the buyer at the telephone number listed herein.
