Description
RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE TO ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT W9127N-09-D-0004. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, plans to issue Task Order 19 under Contract W9127N-09-D-0004 for flash hazard analysis as required under National Fire Protection (NFPA) 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (2009) in order to protect personnel from the possibility of being injured by an arc flash. The analysis will be based on the available fault current and the fault clearing time. This information will be used to determine the Flash Protection Boundary (FPB) and the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that people within the boundary shall use. Switchboards, panel boards, control panels, motor control centers and other industrial locations that are likely to require examination, adjustment, servicing, or maintenance while energized must be analyzed and field marked to warn qualified perrsons of potential electric arc flash hazards. To comply with the NFPA safety standard, all exisitng electrical equipment (including supply, distribution, and load for AC system at all voltages and ratings) that has a potential to produce an arc flash hazard at up to eight Willamette Valley Projects must be assessed for arc flash hazards. This includes, but is not limited to, all the components within the powerhouse (if applicable), spillway, regulating outlet structures, main dam, warehouses, and fish facilities. The following five projects will be analyzed: Blue River Dam, Cottage Grove Dam, Dorena Dam, Fall Creek Dam, and Fern Ridge Dam. The following locations are optional: Cougar Dam, Foster Dam, and Green Peter Dam.
