- This is a sources sought announcement only. This is not a solicitation announcement. The purpose of this announcement is to gain knowledge of current market capabilities. There is not a solicitation available at this time. However, upon review of information submitted relative to the required capabilities, WVES will make a determination if the information submitted meets the minimum technical qualifications specified and whether to include the organization in any future potential solicitation for the scope of work. The proposed scope of work: Industrial Hygiene Laboratory including Radiologically Contaminated and Non-Radiologically Contaminated Samples WVES is seeking a laboratory to perform analysis on Radiologically Contaminated and Non-Radiologically Contaminated Samples. These samples will include Asbestos by PCM, PLM, TEM Air, and TEM bulk, as well as, Hexavalent Chromium, Mercury, Lead, Crystaline Silica using NIOSH, EPA, or OSHA methods. The laboratory will need the following capabilities: The Lab shall be accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) for analysis of workplace environmental samples and New York State Department of Health ELAP approved for asbestos analyses (provide supporting documentation). The laboratory shall possess a radioactive material license to perform analysis on radiologically contaminated samples which may contain Strontium 90, Cesium 137, Americium 241, Uranium 235, Uranium 238, Thorium 232, or Plutonium 239. (provide supporting documentation). Turn around times shall begin on the first working day of lab receipt of the samples. Turn around times are identified as following: • i. Priority 1 - verbal/fax results, same day, within ten (10) hours of sample receipt, written report in three (3) working days • ii. Priority 2 - verbal/fax results within twenty-four (24) hours of sample receipt and written report within three (3) working days • iii. Priority 3 - written report within ten (10) working days. The Lab shall demonstrate evidence of satisfactory analytical performance on crosscheck samples from state or national laboratory inter-comparison programs. Results of any such performance evaluations shall be sent to WVES. Quality control samples of known content provided to WVES by national laboratories will be submitted periodically to the Lab as blind samples.
