- Description
- Given the critical nature of certain features in new currency and the tolerances on the equipment to produce them, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is seeking sources on services available for flatness mapping of surfaces. These measurements will take place in the BEP facility in Washington, DC. The surfaces to be measured are no more than five (5) feet long by four (4) feet wide. The overall tolerance range of the system should be + / - 20 microns per meter. Measurements should be recorded no less than every inch. A complete inspection report will need to be provided that will summarize the overall flatness of the table and include a chart that displays each inspection point in relation to table level. Measurement data should also be supplied in a digital file in a conventional format such as.CSV. Companies who have the capabilities to perform this service should submit a Capabilities Statement with pricing to Donald Baron, Contract Specialist, BEP, 14th and C Sts. SW, Wash. DC 20228 or donald.baron@bep.treas.gov no later than close of business on October 30, 2009.
