Description
Sole Source Justification - Turbo Ci Bundle - Mass Spectrum Detector MASS SPECTRUM DETECTOR: The solicitation number is FA8601-10-T-0020. The NAICS Code is 334516. The size standard is 500 employees. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The proposed source is Agilent Technologies. The purchase is for a Mass Spectrum Detector. Agilent Technologies is the only manufacturer capable of providing this machine and the other manufacturers cannot fulfill all the items outlined in the specifications. The Mass Spectrum Detector will increase the systems capability from identifying groups of unburned hydrocarbons and noxious emissions to specific species and concentrations, incvaluable information for system modelers and researchers to better understand the current combustion devices being tested. The application requires the systems to be integrated with the gas analyzer diagnostic system provided by California Analytics. The contractor will provide all necessary hardward and all asssociated control software and data acquisition software necessary. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received within (Five) 5 days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
