- Description
- The Government intends to execute an unrestricted procurement for lease of twenty five (25) DOT 3T (Seamless steel cylinder) jumbo compressed gaseous helium tube bank trailers. All trailers offered for the performance of this contract shall have a minimum capacity of 180 thousand standard cubic feet (MC) (approximate water volume of 900 cubic feet). The Contractor shall make ready and available all twenty-five trailers not later than 10 days after the beginning of the period of performance. DESC will coordinate movement of the trailers with an assigned government carrier. NSN: 9135-00-890-2011. This requirement will be to provide equipment that is in compliance with all federal and state regulations, and is in a roadworthy and serviceable condition. Trailers must also meet Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) 49 requirements regarding testing and certification. The twenty-five trailers will be used to transport gaseous helium to various locations in the Continental United States. The performance period shall be from 1 Jan 2010 through 30 Dec 2014, with the first delivery due 10 days of award. The resultant award shall be a five-year, firm fixed price requirements type contract. Subject solicitation will be issued on or about 20 Oct 2009 and posted to the FedBizOpps web page at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/).
