Description
Request for Information (Sources Sought Notice) Commissary, PN 72258, Fort Carson, Colorado This is not a request for proposals or an invitation for bids. This notice is for Market Research purposes only. The Omaha District, US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking qualified General Contractor Small Businesses (SB), Small Disabled Small Business (SDB), Woman Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), Service Disabled Veteran Owned SB (SDVOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZones), Qualified Section 8(a) businesses, and Other than Small concerns that qualify under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 236220 for the following project located at Fort Carson, Colorado. Project name and location: Commissary, PN 72258, Fort Carson, Colorado The scope of work authorized for this 100% designed project is the construction of a new 120,104 square foot Commissary. This new facility will provide sales area, including a general sales and a Grab & Go area, checkout area, receiving area, loading dock, meat and produce preparation area, cold and freeze storage and other supporting areas. Mechanical ventilation will be used where required. Heat recovery is to be used, where possible and backed up by a self contained system. Reclaim of cold air spill over from Commissary display cases will be used in conjunction with the air conditioning system. Construction will include a refrigeration support system with automatic monitoring control systems. Exterior support includes tying into the existing utilities, services and communication system and provides pavement for delivery trucks and car parking. Project provides walks, curbs, gutters, storm drainage, site improvements and landscaping for a complete useable facility. Emergency building lighting and fire protection systems and mechanical space will be provided. Accessibility for person with disabilities will be provided. Antiterrorism measures meeting minimum DoD standards are included. Air conditioning in the retail spaces and computer rooms will be provided. Government furnished and installed commissary equipment, including telephones, IOT, carts and operational equipment is included in the cost. The Commissary is a regional facility. This Commissary will be built to support current and former military personnel and their families in the Colorado Springs area. The range of construction is between $20 mil and $30 mil. Performance and Payment Bonds would be required for this work. The estimated performance period is 540 calendar days. This announcement is part of our market research, and your responses are sought to identify sources that have the capabilities, experience, satisfactory past performance, and bonding capacity to perform the work. Interested contractors that qualify under NAICS Code 236220 are asked to submit a response to this request for information to demonstrate their technical capability, bonding ability, and potential interest in this project. It is anticipated that the Government will issue a firm fixed price contract for this work. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A REQUEST FOR A FORMAL PROPOSAL OR BID. This notice is provided for information purposes only. The Government will not pay any costs associated with preparation and submissions of responses to this sources sought announcement. All interested, capable, qualified and responsive contractors are encouraged to reply to this sources sought announcement. Provide your companys Central Contractor Registration (CCR) cage code and DUNS number to verify your business status as a qualified small firm or other than small business. (Contractors must be registered in CCR and ORCA at the time of contract award.) 3.What is the primary nature of your business? 4.Provide 3 examples of completed projects similar to the work described above. Include point of contact information for any examples provided. Past performance on these projects may be verified. Contractors with unsatisfactory past performance may not be considered capable of successfully performing this type of work. 5.Indicate your firm's bonding capacity for individual contracts as well as the aggregate bonding limit for your company.
