Description

The Government intends to award a sole source firm fixed-price contract to Waste Control Specialists, LLC for the temporary storage of twenty-seven (27) B-25 boxes containing mixed radioactive waste, including Radium-226, Strontium-90, and Cesium-137. The material has been treated to remove RCRA characteristics including lead. This announcement is for informational purposes only. No solicitation is available. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract, based on responses to this notice, is within the discretion of the Government. Under authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The US Environmental Protection Agency, Region 3 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source for the temporary storage of this material. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 562211. Closing date or response date for this synopsis/quotation is October 23, 2009 at 2 pm, Eastern Time.
