- Provide all labor, materials, equipment and supervision to complete project 607-388 "Expand Surgical Suites" at theWilliam S. Middleton VA Hospital, Madison, WI. This project involves an approximate 2500 SF addition on the eighth floor, D wing in Bldg 1, and renovations to approximately 21,200 SF of existing space on the seventh floor A and D wings in Bldg 1, to provide new operating suites, PACU, Phase 2 recovery space, pre-op bays and other related support spaces. Work includes, but is not limited to: Demolition; hazardous material removal and disposal; carpentry; metal siding installation; roofing; interior finishes window and door installation; electrical, security systems and telecommunication; plumbing; fire protection; and HVAC. This construction project is set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSBs). All prospective contractors must be registered on the VetBiz website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on Fedbizops. There will be a pre-construction conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-construction conference will be included in the solicitation package. The solicitation will be issued on/about November 23, 2009 with the bid opening on/about January 6, 2009. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from Fedbizops which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to SDVOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $5,000,000 - $10,000,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220; size standard $33.5 Million applies. Time for completion is 550 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. In accordance with FAR 52.204-7, Required Central Contractor Registration and in accordance with FAR 2.101, VAAR 802.101, VetBiz Registration, prospective firms must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and in the VetBiz databases prior to award.
