- Commercial Purchase Tainter Gate Wire Rope Various Locations in Oklahoma. The purpose of this synopsis is to conduct market research on potential sources for a future acquisition of Tainter Gate Wire Rope at various locations in Oklahoma. This is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations. It is anticipated that the following services will be required: The Contractor shall furnish and deliver wire rope, complete with terminations (sockets) at both ends, to the locations indicated on the attached schedule. The wire rope is for installation in the operating equipment for tainter gates. The wire rope shall be manufactured, prepared for delivery, and delivered in accordance with the requirements of Corps of Engineers specifications. Installation will be by a separate contract. The length of each wire rope is approximately as indicated on the attached schedule. The Contractor shall field verify lengths of wire ropes and required end terminations prior to assembly. The wire rope shall be of the following type: a. Strand configuration: As indicated on the attached schedule b. Lay: As indicated on the attached schedule c. Diameter: As indicated on the attached schedule, with a tolerance of - 0 and plus 5 percent d. Finish: Not Galvanized e. Material: Type 302 or 304 Stainless Steel f. Core type: Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) g. Pre-formed: Yes Potential sources must submit a capability statement of no more than 4 pages in length, which addresses the following key areas: (1) TECHNICAL - Potential sources must demonstrate their ability to provide the manufactured wire rope according to the provided schedule. Capability statement submitted may list only current and past projects and client information that is no more than 4 years previous and include a brief description, identify the capacity the firm worked in on the project (prime or subcontractor), the contract type (list by task order if IDIQ), contract or task order value, dollar value of work subcontracted, percent complete, if complete date completed, name and title of customer POC and current phone number. (2) BUSINESS SIZE - Potential sources shall identify if they are a large, small, SDB/8a, women-owned or veteran / disabled-veteran owned small businesss. All interested parties may respond or submit statements of qualifications. This is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is within the discretion of the Government.
