- The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Acquisition Management and Operations Branch (AMOB) has a requirement for services including certification of lab readiness for NIH clearances, environmental site assessments and remediation of contaminants prior to renovation. These services will be required in multiple locations including: The NIH campus, Bethesda, Maryland, Twinbrook Facilities, Rockville, Maryland, the NIH Animal Center, Poolesville, Maryland, the Rocky Mountain Laboratories, Hamilton, Montana, and Fort Detrick, Frederick, Maryland. These services will be performed essentially in Bio-safety Levels 1 and 2 laboratories that will be undergoing modifications but may include some office and high containment space. The laboratory environment may include but is not limited to pathogens, asbestos, lead paint, mold, heavy metals, chemicals, radioactive isotopes, lead and PCB's or any equipment, supplies, processes or building utilities to support biomedical research. The Contractor shall provide all the necessary services, qualified personnel, materials and equipment needed for abatement efforts at the biological laboratories. It is anticipated that a 12-Month Firm-Fix Price, IDIQ type contract with options to renew for 4 (four) successive 12-month periods beginning on January 27, 2010 will be awarded. This is a SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE procurement. The NAICS code for this requirement is 562910 which has a size standard of $14 million. Award of this requirement will be in accordance with FAR Part 12. This is not a Request for Proposals. The intention of this announcement is to notify potential offerors that the Request for Proposals will be available for download on or about November 13, 2009 from www.fedbizopps.gov.
