Description
NAVFAC Southeast Safety Symposium: The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast, located in Jacksonville, Florida, is hosting a Safety Symposium on November 17, 2009. The symposium will provide a venue for NAVFAC Southeast and industry to discuss continuous improvement with regard to safety performance. NAVFAC Southeast provides Engineering support to the Warfighter, including major and minor construction, A/E design, environmental and facility support services. It is the goal of this event for NAVFAC South to share its philosophy, commitment to safety, measured goals, and utilization of the DoD Construction Contractor Appraisal Support System (CCASS) in source selection and performance evaluation. Dialogue will be pertinent to both prime contractors and their associated subcontractors while working on Navy installations. Topics to be addressed include: Site Observation Trends, FY 2009 Workforce Fatalities, Prime/Sub Contractor Trends, Acquisition Responsibilities and Impacts, Contract Administration, Roles of ETS/PARS, Facility Support Contracts, Base Operations Support Contracts, Prime/Sub Contractor Accountability, CCASS, Model Programs and Success, and Contractor Feedback. Following the Safety Symposium, NAVFAC Southeast asks that interested contractors to remain for a briefing regarding the status and progress of the upcoming Regional Base Operating Support (RBOS) solicitation. The event will be held from 9:00AM until 1:00PM (EST) in Jacksonville, Florida at the University of North Florida Small Business Center, 12000 Alumni Drive. Directions:Attendees can take Butter Blvd. East from Interstate 95, existing at Kernan Blvd.. Alumni Drive will be just north of this exit and intersects with Kernan Blvd. There is a left turn lane at the signal light. The Small Business Center is immediately on your left and there is ample parking. Who should Attend:Any contractors currently working or if interested in contracting opportunities with NAVFAC Southeast should attend this conference.
