- NAVFAC Southeast Safety Symposium: The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast, located inJacksonville, Florida, is hosting a Safety Symposium on November 17, 2009. Thesymposium will provide a venue for NAVFAC Southeast and industry to discusscontinuous improvement with regard to safety performance. NAVFAC Southeastprovides Engineering support to the Warfighter, including major and minorconstruction, A/E design, environmental and facility support services. It isthe goal of this event for NAVFAC South to share its philosophy, commitment tosafety, measured goals, and utilization of the DoD Construction ContractorAppraisal Support System (CCASS) in source selection and performance evaluation. Dialogue will be pertinent to both prime contractors and their associatedsubcontractors while working on Navy installations. Topics to be addressedinclude: Site Observation Trends, FY 2009 Workforce Fatalities, Prime/SubContractor Trends, Acquisition Responsibilities and Impacts, ContractAdministration, Roles of ETS/PARS, Facility Support Contracts, Base OperationsSupport Contracts, Prime/Sub Contractor Accountability, CCASS, Model Programsand Success, and Contractor Feedback. Following the Safety Symposium, NAVFAC Southeast asks that interestedcontractors to remain for a briefing regarding the status and progress of theupcoming Regional Base Operating Support (RBOS) solicitation. The event will be held from 8:00AM until 1:00PM (EST) in Jacksonville, Floridaat the University of North Florida Small Business Center, 12000 Alumni Drive. Directions: See attached.
