- Description
- The VA Medical Center in Coatesville, PA is seeking professional A/E services for the Patient Safety & Security Building 59. Provide professional A/E Services for the complete working drawings, cost estimates, specifications and construction period services for Patient Safety and Security of Building 59This project affects the delivery of Psychiatric healthcare services at VAMC Coatesville, PA. Specifically, the proposed project involves the renovation to specific componets of interior space, service equipment and related support systems on Building 59, First Floor. The newly renovated floor was configured to serve three separate patient populations within a long-term care setting for the seriously mentally ill (SMI) and to enhance services for female patients through the addition of private female bedrooms and bathrooms. The primary purpose of this project is to enhance patient safety and security and improve the overall patient environment associated with long term psychiatric and gero-psychiatric inpatient healthcare services at VAMC Coatesville, PA. Patient safety and security will be enhanced in Building 59-A through the following renovations: a)Replace VCT with Sheet Vinyl Flooring throughout, b) Replace Laminate with Corian Countertop in Nurse Station, c)Replace Laminated with Corian surface in Patient Telephone Room, d)Replace Laminated with Corian surface in Seclusion Security / Ante Room, e)Replace Ceramic Wall Tile with Corian Wall Surfaces in Patient Bath / Shower Rooms, f)Replace shower water mixing panel with one for use in Psychiatric Healthcare, g)Replace 5/8" Drywall with 5/8" Cement Board in Patient Bathrooms and Seclusion rooms, h)Install Impact Wall Protection throughout, i)Install Composite Panel Molding and Chair Rail in Patient Dinning / Activity Room, j)Replace Wood Window Sills with Corian Window Sills throughout, k)Demolish existing windows, install new Security Windows, l)Infill windows no longer needed with brick to match exterior surface, m)Demolish wood single acting doors, frames & hardware, Install new double acting doors, frames W/thumb stop and door gasket & hardware, lockset to be Stanley lever for use in Psychiatric Healthcare, n)Install Nurse Station barrier resistant system, o)Extend drywall partition to concrete deck in Section B, p)Enlarge soffit in Section B, q)Install Security Robe Hooks in patient baths, r)Replace specific suspended ceilings with solid drywall ceiling system, replace lighting affected by the new solid ceiling, s)Replace 5/8" Drywall with 5/8" Cement Board in Patient Bathroom ceilings, t)Provide surface preparation and apply epoxy paint to the patient bathroom ceilings, u)Install 19 stainless steel mirrors, for use in Psychiatric Healthcare, v)Install fixed shelves in waiting room, w)Replace electrical lighting system due to solid ceiling system modification, installing GFI receptacles throughout, x)Add / relocate sprinkler heads in the corridor. y)Add / relocate / modify HVAC system due to the ceiling modifications, z)Install security / tamper proof access panel were need to gain access to overhead valves or other maintenance item in the solid ceiling system, aa)Replace all other construction items that don't meet current codes and VA criteria for Psychiatric patient occupancy. A/E Services to include site investigation and verification of as-built drawings, drawings and specifications, cost estimates, construction period services and site visits. A/E will provide a 50% design submission, 90% design submission, and final submission. The final submission is due 90 calendar days after the notice to proceed is issued. The work shall meet all applicable VA design criteria and construction standards. The estimated construction budget is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. The area of consideration for this acquisition is restricted to firms within 150 mile radius of the VA Medical Center in Coatesville. Interested firms must submit two (2) copies of SF330 with appropriate documentation and information to the Contracting Officer (542/90C), VAMC, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Rd., Coatesville, PA 19320 by close of business Monday, November 23, 2009. NAICS 541310 applies. This is not a request for proposals. This procurement is set-aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses only. The award of the contract is subject to the availability of FY 10 funding. See numbered note 24.
