Description
The proposed contract action is for a commercial requirement; which the Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to solicit from a single source SIEMENS Medical Solutions USA, Inc. under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation notice for commercial items, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This Notice Of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received in a timely manner after the due date of this synopsis/solicitation will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The solicitation number N00259-10-T-0025 is issued as a Request For Quotation (RFQ). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 334510. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All interested bidders shall submit quotations electronically by email to ronnie.bierner@med.navy.mil attention Ronnie Bierner and are due on or before 26 October 2009, 4:00PM Pacific Standard Time to be considered responsive. Furthermore, the SIEMENS equipment employed were procured under a competitive bid; only the service maintenance is being acquired in a sole source environment.SIEMENS Medical Solutions USA, Inc. informed Acquisitions via email that they do not have any small businessconcerns that provide maintenance on the aforementioned equipment. There is effort to secure a DLA DSCP ID/IQ maintenance contract. Contractor must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award.
