Description
NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is soliciting information for potential sources forcollecting, loading, transporting and recycling various commodities at the Center, withcredit to KSC for the marketed commodities. The following broad requirements arerepresentative of the overall efforts needed to support the KSC recycling program, but isnot all-inclusive. The contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, labor andsupervision necessary to collect, load, transport, and recycle used mixed paper,cardboard, glass containers, aluminum cans, and plastic bottles from all designated areasof KSC. The Contractor shall deploy and stage all Government-furnished interior/exteriorrecycling containers, for use in collecting used mixed office paper, cardboard, aluminumcans, plastic bottles and glass containers. The KSC program consists of approximately150 35-95 gallon mixed office paper recycling carts at 80 facilities, up to 30 mixedoffice paper containers at 25 facilities, 50 8-yard rear load exterior cardboardcontainers at 47 facilities. The used glass, aluminum and plastic materials arecollected from approximately 450 interior/exterior recycling collection containerstations (which may contain one or two units per station location) located throughoutvarious facilities/buildings at KSC, and from exterior containers. Government-ownedrecycling containers are staged throughout various facilities/buildings and vary in sizeand proximity with a range of up to seven miles apart within the confines of KSCproperty, and several miles outside KSC for exterior containers. Support is required forlaunch or VIP events or functions which generate recyclables. The purpose of this requirement is to provide NASA KSC with potential, interested,competitive sources for the recycling program. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated broad requirementsare invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references.Firms having the required specialized capabilities in part or in all of the aboverequirements should submit a capability statement of a single page documenting theirability and past experience in performing similar efforts as described above. Vendors arerequested to include the following: name and address of firm; synopsis of relevant workperformed in the past five years, point of contact address and phone number, businesssize, NAICS/CAGE code. All responses will be forwarded to the technical team for reviewof capabilities. Contact Beverly Davis at John F. Thegovernment does not intend to pay for information received in response to this RFI. Responders to this invitation are solely responsible for all expenses associated withresponding to this RFI. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposesand does not constitute a solicitation. No proprietary or classified information shouldbe submitted. Respondents are advised that NASA KSC is under no obligation toacknowledge receipt of the information received, or provide feedback to respondents withrespect to any information submitted under this RFI. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e),responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form abinding contract.No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If asolicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA AcquisitionInternet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sitesfor the release of any solicitation or synopsis.The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based onresponses hereto.
