- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER W91278-10-R-0006. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District is seeking to award a firm-fixed priced contract to repair Dry-Dock Barge No. 72. The work will consist of properly dry-docking, performing necessary repairs and painting. General Characteristics - Barge No. 72 is a non-self-propelled steel hull barge with length overall 120, beam overall 30, molded depth 7 and a displacement of approximately 60 long tons light. Barge No. 72 was constructed in 1975 and has an interior coating consisting of a lead based paint. Part of the specifications is to clean debris from the interior for the application of a gel encapsulating coating. The contractor shall furnish all labor and materials to accomplish the work. All work must be completed no later than 60 calendar days after the barges arrive at the contractors facility. Offerors shall provide a schedule for dry docking and completion repairs. This solicitation is set aside for small business under NAICS 336611. The solicitation will only be issued as a direct download at the following website: https://www.fbo.gov on or about October 27, 2009. All prospective contractors, subcontractors and suppliers must be registered in Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) before they will be allowed to download solicitation information. The solicitation will not be provided in a printed paper format. Therefore, it is the offerors responsibility to check the website for solicitation posting and any changes to the solicitation. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided. No telephone, faxed or mailed requests will be accepted. Also, all US contractors must be registered in the Department of Defense Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database.
