Description
The National Park Service will issue a Prospectus for proposals to operate lodging, retail, food and beverage, RV campground, service station, and other related services within Death Valley National Park. The Prospectus explains the business opportunity and the terms and conditions under which the National Park Service will award the Concession Contract. The existing Concession Contract between the National Park Service and the existing Concessioner expires on December 31, 2009, or until such time as a new Concession Contract is awarded, whichever occurs first. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing Concessioner is not a preferred Offeror for the Contract to be awarded. The length of the new Contract will be for ten (10) years. The Prospectus will be issued on October 29, 2009, for a 90-day response period under the terms described in the Prospectus, with proposals due on January 27, 2010, no later than 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). Any offer, including that of the existing Concessioner, must be received by the Concession Program Manager, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607 no later than ninety (90) days from October 29, 2009 in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of the new Concession Contract. The Prospectus will be available on the National Park Service website at http://www.concessions.nps.gov/Prospectus.cfm. Hard copies are available upon request. There is a printing cost recovery charge for each hard copy of $30 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express. Checks or money orders (no cash accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package. If you are planning to submit a proposal and have obtained your Prospectus from the website or would like to purchase a hard copy, please contact Trystan Stern, Concessions Management Analyst, Pacific West Region Concession Management, 1111 Jackson St., Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607. Telephone inquiries may be directed to 510-817-1470 or you can e-mail Trystan_Stern@nps.gov. Please advise Trystan Stern of your interest in this business opportunity so your contact information can be placed on a mailing list to receive future responses to questions or amendments to the Prospectus. Those receiving hard copies or those who have been placed on the mailing list will be provided with any additional information specific to the Prospectus in writing. The same information will also be posted to the above mentioned website.
