Description

Request for Proposal for a C60 Ion Source. Technical specifications and instructions for submission of proposals are included. Intents to respond are due November 6, 2009 and final proposals due November 13, 2009. Questions may be directed to Tanya Smith Battelle Memorial Institute, Pacific Northwest Division (Battelle), is interested in receiving proposals for a C60 Ion Ion Source needed in connection with the Recovery Act and Battelle's management, operation, and maintenance of the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) at Richland, Washington, under Prime Contract DE-AC05-76RL01830. PNNL is requesting a response to this proposal no later than November 13, 2008. The C60 ion pulsed beam source generates C60 ions and the accelerates them into a pulsed ion beam which will be used to ionize biomolecules from a surface for analysis by mass spectrometry. By ionizing the sample at different locations of the surface, the spatial distribution of biomolecules can be determined resulting in molecular images of the biological sample. The ion beam size and reproducibility are key factors for obtaining the desired results for planned experiments and applications. Interested parties shall submit an intent to respond to this proposal no later than November 5, 2009. Information regarding the services required and instructions for the preparation and submission of proposals are contained in the attached RFP. Battelle requests the submission of your best pricing proposal in support of the technical specifications and other requirements as detailed in this RFP.
