- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is for repairing the engines and generators on the Derrickbarge Schwartz as follows: Engines (2 ea) Cummins/Onan Model- 6CTA8.3G HP-277 @ 1800 Rpm Port Engine Ser # - 45187159 Stbd Engine Ser # - 45179196 Associated Generators (2 ea) Model- 150DGFA Service rating- 60 RPM- 1800 PF- 0.8/10 Bat- 24 1PH:100KW KVA:100 3PH:150KW KVA:108 These diesel generators have approximately 12,500 hours. The Contractor shall replace the generator end bearings and tune-up the engines and generators. Crane Engine 1 ea Model- (Main) Cummins K-19: KTA19-P Serial # - 37157150 This Cummins diesel engine has approximately 8600 hours and revs higher at start-up. The Contractor shall repair or replace the (Main) K-19 Cummins Diesel Engine start panel, non-operative hour meter, non-operative engine shut down keyed switch, the emergency shut down that is not consistently working and tune-up the engine. Contractor shall furnish and install a new RACOR Fuel Filter, Model # 900FG, Gallons per minute-90, Working Vacuum 28.5 HG Max, Element # 2040 series. All RACOR fuel filters shall be installed with fuel/hydraulic hoses and appropriate fuel fittings. Diesel Engine 1 ea Model- (Swinger) Cummins NTA 855P Serial # - BP52180025 This Cummins diesel engine has approximately 8700 hours and revs at 1000 rpms. The Contractor shall tune-up the engine. Also install a new RACOR Fuel Filter, Model # 900FG, Gallons per minute-90, Working Vacuum 28.5 HG Max, Element # 2040 series. All RACOR fuel filters shall be installed with fuel/hydraulic hoses and appropriate fuel fittings. All work shall be performed by a Certified Diesel Engine Mechanic or Electrician. The tune-ups shall include inspecting and/or testing the wiring, gauges, meters, hoses, fuses, connectors, fittings, seals, clamps, fluids, heaters, and all associated components on the diesel engines and generators. The Contractor shall tear down all sub-assemblies and remove all paint, dirt, oils, and greases. The Contractor shall inform the Government Representative of the finding of their inspections and testing, their repair plan and procedures, and list of items to be replaced. The Contractor shall test all installed components for proper bearing seating, seal integrity, voltage, component integrity and operational performance. Upon completion of the work, the Contractor shall bring the diesel engines and generators up to operational speed and temperature for calibration and testing. The Contractor shall ensure that the generators and engines are properly aligned and operating to supply power to the derrick barge electrical components, motors and winches. The Contractor shall document generator voltage, diesel engine temperatures, fluid levels and meter readings. Bidders may contact David Curran at (218)343-9265 to arrange for a site visit to inspect the engines and generators. The equipment is on the Derrickbarge Schwartz which is working in the Duluth/Superior Harbor. Appointment times will only be available Mon-Thurs and must be scheduled around the Derrickbarges work schedule. Work must begin on November 18, 2009, and all work including final testing must be completed by November 25, 2009. The Contractor shall comply with the National Electrical Code and the American Bureau of Shipping and Maritime Regulations. Upon completion work, the Contractor shall furnish the Government with updated diagrams/prints, a complete bill of materials including unit costs, and suggested spare parts.
