Description
Advanced Planning Briefing to Industry (9 December 2009) - Fed Biz Ops Notice The Joint Project Manager for Biological Defense (JPM-BD) and the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Contracting Center, Edgewood Division (ECD) will host an Advanced Planning Briefing for Industry (APBI) for interested parties to be held on the following date: Date: 9 December 2009 Time: 0830 - 1200 hours EST Place: Chemical Material Agency (CMA), Chemical Demilitarization Training Facility (CDTF), Bldg E4516, (CDTF), Assembly Room A, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD At this briefing, JPM BD will inform industry of planned efforts on the following programs: Joint Biological Tactical Detection System (JBTDS) " Will enter Materiel Solution Analysis (MSA) phase with proposed FY10 Milestone A Decision. " Competitive prototyping effort to demonstrate end-to-end/integrated capability will be conducted. Joint Biological Point Detection System (JBPDS) " Phase 1 of Build 2 effort was recently initiated. " Focus primarily on cost reduction to field supportability and maintainability. " Transition from prototype Rapid Agent Aerosol Detector (RAAD) design into a production ready sensor and finalization of system design and algorithm Joint Biological Stand-off Detection System Increment 2 (JBSDS-2) " Approved to enter MSA phase with a proposed Milestone A Decision in FY10. " Request for Proposal (RFP) for Phase 1 of the JBPDS-2 Program in FY10. For the topic areas above, the JPM requests participants to provide questions to facilitate discussions. The participants may participate in breakout sessions immediately following the program briefs. JPM-BD will post the APBI presentations to the JPEO's public website. All presentations will be in place no later than 30 November 2009. The APBI will be unclassified and open to all interested contractors, large and small businesses and universities. Dress code is business casual. Please email Christa Harrop (christa.harrop@us.army.mil) with the following information: Company Name and Address; Name and Contact Information for Each Attendee. All attendees must meet the requirements for admission to APG, to include: proper identification (i.e. Driver's license and/or Common Access Card (CAC)), car registration, or a car rental agreement, and proof of insurance. Foreign Nationals will be required to provide their passport number and must be cleared through the Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC) Foreign Intelligence Office to gain access to APG. It is imperative that information for Foreign Nationals be provided as soon as possible (ASAP) to the ECBC Security Center (FAX: 410-612-5480 or 410-436-2287/DSN 584-2287.
