- Description
- DARPA-BAA-10-13 FIBER LASER PULSE SOURCE (FILPS) PROGRAM. DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals to investigate high-energy pulsed fiber lasers and amplifiers that can be coherently combined to efficiently form a near-diffraction limited laser beam in the far-field. The FILPS program will culminate in a UAV compatible system that generates 10-mJ, sub-ns duration optical pulses at a 25-kHz repetition rate and an overall electrical efficiency of > 15%. To ensure control and pulse-energy scalability via coherent combining, the system will be phase-locked to an external reference source. Extensive use of monolithic components is encouraged to minimize free-space power transport. All administrative correspondence and questions on this solicitation should be directed to DARPA-BAA-10-13@darpa.mil. See attached DARPA-BAA-10-13 document for complete announcement. Questions on the BAA are due 11 November 2009. First Round Proposals are due 23 December 2009.
