- Description
- The Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a requirement to construct water storage sites along the Upper Trinity River in downtown Fort Worth, Texas as part of the Fort Worth Central City Upper Trinity River Program. Work requirements include excavation, hauling, and placement of approximately 400,000 cubic yards of material from the Samuels Ave South site and approximately 140,000 cubic yards of material from the Samuels Ave North site. Other major work elements include construction of cast-in-place reinforced concrete headwalls/spillway, construction of drain culverts, storm sewer structures, installation of perforated drain pipe, clearing and grubbing, seeding, hydro seeding, demolition of existing structures, construction of both gravel and concrete trails, and construction of permanent fencing. This description is not all inclusive, but only an overview of the major work requirements of the project. The solicitation will be issued on or about 23 November 2009 as a competitive 8(a) Invitation for Bid (IFB). A public bid opening will be conducted 30 days after issuance of the solicitation; the specific date, time and location of the bid opening will be identified in the solicitation documents. THIS PROCUREMENT IS 100% SET-ASIDE FOR 8(a) FIRMS ONLY. IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT COMPETITION WILL BE LIMITED TO 8(a) FIRMS LOCATED WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA SERVICED BY THE SBA DALLAS/FORT WORTH DISTRICT OFFICE, AND OTHER 8(a) CONSTRUCTION FIRMS A WITH BONA FIDE PLACE OF BUSINESS WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHICAL COMETITIVE AREA, AND THE ASSIGNED NAICS CODE. ALL OTHER 8(a) BD PARTICIPANTS ARE INELIGIBLE TO SIBMIT BIDS. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238910, with a Small Business Size Standard (as identified by the U.S. Small Business Administration) of $14,000,000. An original Bid Guarantee will be required with each submitted bid. Both a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price, will be required to be submitted by the successful bidder within 10 calendar days of contract award. Plans and specifications will not be available in paper format or on compact disc. Contractors may view and/or download the solicitation and all Amendments only at the following internet address: www.fbo.gov. It is the offerors responsibility to monitor the FBO website (using the above link) for Amendments to the solicitation. Use of this website requires prior registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) databases. You may register with CCR at http://ccr.gov/.
