Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Requirements (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this requirement is FA8601-10-T-0027 and is hereby issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) using FAR Subpart 13.1 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The 88th Contracting Squadron, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract for the following requirement: CLIN 0001: Vacuum Pumps - Quantity 2 Minimum requirement: GENERAL This specification describes the performance, hardware and services to be provided in conjunction with dry mechanical vacuum pumps to increase the capability of existing vacuum test chambers. The requirement is for two vacuum pumps which can provide a high flow rate to minimize pump down times and eliminate the need for oil in the system. The dry mechanical pumps will reduce maintenance and eliminate the risk of getting oil into a sensitive environment. The equipment design shall consider the OSHA and any other applicable specifications and safety standards. The materials and component parts shall be of good commercial quality, consistent with the performance required from the components. Workmanship shall be consistent with best commercial practice. OVERALL DIMENSIONS The system will be installed in two different laboratories and shall be able to fit within a 2m x 1m x 1m location. MINIMUM CAPABILITIES The following specifications have been identified for this equipment. 1. An oil-free roughing pump 2. At least 175 cubic feet per minute pumping capacity in air 3. Can achieve pressures below 10 mTorr ultimate 4. Solenoid operation is required in order to integrate the vacuum pumps into the existing vacuum systems. 5. Vacuum pump shall have a KF-40 to connect to the vacuum chamber MINIMUM SYSTEM The System shall have to integrate with two existing vacuum chambers. For this reason, it will need to be solenoid operated. Power requirements need to meet those available in the lab (190-240 VAC, 60Hz, 3 phase). OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL An Operation and Maintenance Manual will be provided. The manual will consist of the following:... Electrical drawings.... General arrangement drawing or descriptive literature.... Calibration instruction.... Operating instruction. Maintenance schedule This acquisition is 100% Small Business Set-Aside and is under North American Industry Classification System code 339113 with a small business size standard of 500 employees.
