- This proposed contract action is for the purchase of a medical laser, for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate sole source with Candela Corporation, 530 Boston Post Rd.,Wayland MA 01778.This purchase will be on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, due to proprietary design offered by the company. Use is for dermatological services provided at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB TX. Interested persons/vendors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. major design feature is ability to use multiple wavelenght/frequency of light to deliver pulse width of 3msec, useable on different skin types., with patented cooling system. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is solely within the discretion of the Government. This purchase is for a commercially available piece of equipment. There is no written solicitation. The North American (NAICS) code is 332510, and the size standard is 500 employees.
