Description

The VA Medical Center, 1101 Veterans Drive, Lexington, KY is seeking information on qualified SBA certified 8(a) or HUBZone contractors to perform construction for "Renovate Emergency Department" Project No. 596-324. Work includes architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, medical gas, and industrial hygiene. Work involves complete renovation of approximately 11,000 GSF on the first floor of the Cooper Drive Division of the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. This project will create a modern, safe, secure Emergency Department. Using the available space, the work will allow the project renovations for the Emergency Department to be completed in phases to allow for continuous uninterrupted operations. Project includes replacement of a HVAC system. Construction cost range is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. The NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $33.5 million. Interested bidders should submit information on company experience in emergency department renovation, evidence of bonding capacity, key personnel experience in renovation of emergency department renovation, past performance information and evidence of SBA certification as a 8(a) or HUBZone contractor. This is not a pre-solicitation notice for a request for proposal. The government will evaluate information submitted by interested firms to determine if 8(a) or HUBZone setaside is appropriate for this procurement.
