Description
This is a pre-solicitation notice with the intent to advertise for a Firm Fixed Price Construction Contract. The work includes repair of Galley building 7205 Camp Shields, in Okinawa Japan. Building 7205 is the Enlisted Dinning Facility situated in the Seabee Camp Shields, Okinawa. The facility was built in 1973 it is a one-story reinforced concrete structure with 1,196 square meters total area. The facility serves approximately 810 meals a day by government staff for military personnel. This project is for the construction, alteration and renovation work of an existing dining facility including dining, food service area, kitchen, storage, restrooms, office, mechanical room and generator shed. The facility will be vacant during the construction. In addition there is required work for existing building service systems due to poor conditions and noncompliance with current codes, those systems are identified in the specifications. Other systems such as HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression and security systems are well maintained and in good condition. The North American Industry Classification system (NAICS) code is 238990. Estimated cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This is a new procurement and does not replace an existing contract. The total duration shall not exceed 330 calendar days. The project will be solicited as an Invitation for Bid (IFB). Bidders can view and/or download the solicitation via Asia NECO website when it becomes available. All interested bidders shall register at this website. The solicitation is expected to be posted on 27 November 2009. Bids are expected to be due on 6 January 2010. No electronic submissions are authorized. All dates are tentative and are subject to change. Registration for this IFB does not release bidders for the responsibility of checking the solicitation daily for any amendments or other information pertaining to this solicitation. A site visit will be scheduled and information will be posted in the solicitation. The government intends on issuing this IFB through the Internet at https://asia.neco.navy.mil (AsiaNeco). Amendments will be posted on the website for downloading. All interested offerors shall register at the website to ensure they are notified of updates or amendments to the solicitation as they occur. The solicitation, specification and drawings will be made available on Asia NECO on or after November 27, 2009.
