- Amendment No. 1, this amendment answers questions/clarifications raised a the site visit, all other terms and conditions remain unchanged, bid has not been changed. Site Visit Questions and Answers Solicitation No. AG-4431-S-10-0001 Replace Roofs, Buildings No. 1, 2, 4, 9 and 12 USDA, ARS, Mississippi State, MS 1. Confirmation that viable weather will be the only days counted in the 150 day turnaround time. Confirmed, only actual rain days will be added to the 150 days. 2. The spec of the 4 inch strap to hold downspout should be approved or re-evaluate The specifications call for 2" straps. 3. Drainage Gutter System to that specific flow instructions. As far as whether or not, they would rather have galvanized or ceramic coated fasteners. See specifications for fastener material type. Basic principal is that the fastened shall be approved by the manufacturer of the material being fastened. Stainless steel is the default fastener material. 4. Any Preferred vapor barrier fasteners. Should be specified in an addendum. Fasteners shall be as recommended by vapor barrier manufacturer. 5. Specified areas for where dumpsters trash chutes and equipment storage areas are preferred to specify in detail. Contractor staging area has been defined in another response included in the project addenda. 6. Any preferred sites for recycling of materials accumulated during demolition should be noted. There is no recycle requirement for this project. 7. Notice of whether the drains on building One building Two buildings Four building Nine building 12. See project documents. 8. What will be the staging areas for each building? A 120' x 20' staging area will be available in the parking lot to the east side of Building No. 2. The contractor shall supply 8' high gated chain link security fencing around staging area. All post hole penetrations into natural ground or paving surfaces shall be repaired at the end of the project. Any damage to paved surfaces, sodded areas, or landscaping shall be repaired at no additional cost to the government. 9. Will owner pay for materials stored in an offsite insured warehouse? Yes, but the contractor will need to provide receipts for the materials prior to payment request. 10. Is the desired cover board to be ½" glass mat gypsum roof board (re: Section 072200- Paragraph 2.2.1) or one of the other two listed in Section 072200-Paragraph 3.2.2.1? As per Section 072200, 2.2.1 11. Are the tapered systems to be installed according to Section 072200-Paragraph 3.2 (1" base layer with ½" minimum tapered) or as shown on Details 1 & 2 on Plan Page A300 (1 ½" minimum tapered)? See 072200, 2.1.4 12. Are gutters to be supported by aluminum brackets as described in Section 076000-Paragraph 3.1.15 and Table I or as shown on Details 1 & 2 on Plan Page A300? Install as per 076000, 3.1.15
