Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service in Albany, California has a requirement to purchase a real-time quantitative PCR (QPCR) instrument capable of measuring fluorescence at four wavelengths from a 96-well plate during the PCR cycling reaction with 10 – 50 ul reactions. This system must be self-contained, with the exception of the computer. Software to control the machine must be included and have the ability to be mounted on any computer as necessary for remote analysis. This QPCR must use a quartz tungsten halogen lamp for excitation to deliver light from 350 nm to 750 nm wavelength range to support greater dye flexibility; must have four narrow band-pass excitation filters and four narrow band-pass emission detection filters; must use coaxial fiber optic bundles to simultaneously deliver excitation light and detect fluorescence emission light from the dye/sample so as to minimize signal loss and decrease fluorescence signal noise. Instrument must not require recalibration to run plates with changes in volumes, new dyes in single or multiplex reactions, well-factor corrections or any other correction/calibration for optical variations; system and software should be flexible to support multiple QPCR detection chemistries including SYBR Green, TaqMan probes, and molecular beacons. This solicitation incorporates the following commercial FAR clauses by reference 52.212-1, 52.212-2, 52.212-3, 52.212-4, and 52.212-5. Interested vendors are encouraged to submit proposals containing descriptive literature (refer to FAR 52.214-21) of their products to Clarice Dixson, USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Western Regional Research Center, 800 Buchanan Street, Albany, CA 94710 or by e-mail to Clarice.Dixson@ars.usda.gov no later than 4:00PM PST December 8, 2009. (Please specify any shipping/freight costs).
