- Description
- SAIC-Frederick, Inc., on behalf of the National Cancer Institute - Frederick, anticipates posting a Request for Proposal during the first week of December 2010 to renovate an exisiting 22,250 sf facility into a Freezer Repository facility. Two site visit opportunities will be tentatively planned for the week of December 7. The facility currently serves as an animal feed warehouse. Two pairs of doors will be installed to provide direct access between the new Suite K Repository and the existing SAIC-F Suite H Repository to the south. SAIC-F requires the upgrade of interior finishes, lighting, power, plumbing, fire protection, and air conditioning to match those existing in Suite H's warehouse, to provide an expanded state of the art freezer repository to include -80° freezers and cryogenic freezers [-150° Centigrade liquid nitrogen (LN2) freezers]. Additional work involves the construction of laboratory, processing, receiving, equipment room, and electrical room to support the new facility, as well as providing space for a future laboratory and additional future freezer capacity.
