Description
RECOVERY PROJECT-Construction Project No. 656-09-139, entitled 'Repair/Upgrade Nurse Call System in Building 48, 49, 50 and 51'. This solicitation is issued as an IFB (Invitation for Bid) construction project, which is 100% SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) firms. All SDVOSB submitting an offer must be registered and will be verified by the Contracting Officer in the VetBiz Information pages located at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/. All bidders must also be registered on www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov. The NAICS Code 238210, along with size standard $14 million applies. The procurement is entitled 'Repair/Upgrade Nurse Call System in Building 48, 49, 50 and 51' at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center, in St. Cloud Minnesota. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to replace existing hard-wired Nurse Call Systems in Buildings 48, 49, 50 and 51 with new digital multiplex systems; also replace existing Secure Care Wandering Patient Systems with new systems in Buildings 49, 50 and 51 that communicate and interface with new Nurse Call System. Nurse Call System. Nurse Call and Wandering Patient Systems are to be compatible and interfaced to function as a unit, controllable through one monitor. Work will consist of the complete demolition of existing systems and the installation of new systems to replace the demolished systems. Demolition and construction is inclusive of wiring, conduit, j-boxes, control panels, key pads, and various other items necessary to install new systems in accordance with the contract plans and specifications. Work is to be completed in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. There is one bid alternate. Potential offerors to note the OSHA training requirements as listed in the General Requirements section. Work cannot commence until VA receives proof of required OSHA training. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will ONLY be available on the FBO website (www.fbo.gov ). Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. Contract completion time is 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. NO BIDDER'S MAILING LISTS ARE MAINTAINED WITH THE CONTRACTING OFFICER. The estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.00. NO HARD COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE. All questions must be submitted in writing. The solicitation will be issued on/about December 1, 2009. A pre-bid meeting/walkthrough is scheduled for December 9, 2009 at 1:30PM CT, Building 48, Room 14, attendance is not mandatory, but is strongly encouraged. Sealed bid opening is 2:00PM CT (local time) on January 4, 2010. Electronic and faxed bids will NOT be accepted. This project requires the bidders/contractors to secure bonding.
