Description
RECOVERY- Sully's Hill NGP Trail, Sully's Hill National Game Preserve, FFS Project Number R6JJ, TAS::14 1610::TAS THIS CONTRACTING ACTION IS BEING OFFERED UNDER THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA). TAS: 14 0910 1610 THIS CONTRACTING ACTION IS OFFERED FULL AND OPEN. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Work under this contract consists of the design and construction of an accessible, reinforced concrete trail to replace existing trail (FWS asset 10028870), gravel bases, reconditioning, and seeding at Sully's Hill National Game Preserve, Benson County, North Dakota. WORK SITE AND JOB CONDITIONS A. The trail is approximately 995 linear feet extending an existing trail from the visitor's parking lot and creating a loop back to the Visitor Education Center. Refer to drawings for general layout, Contractor will coordinate final trail layout with Project Manager prior to beginning work. B. Trail traverses through wooded areas and open spaces with variable grades. Access to the trail is limited, a portion of the work area is accessible by vehicle, and most of the work area is limited to foot travel. Tools and materials will need to be carried in on wheel borrows and hand carts. C. Station personnel will clear and grub heavy brush from proposed trail path, Contractor will still be required to clear grass, weeds, and light brush. D. To the North of the Visitor Education Center is the buildings drain field. No vehicular traffic is allowed over the drain field. LOCATION AND INSPECTION OF SITEA. The site of the work is at the Sully's Hill National Game Preserve, approximately 10 miles south and west of Devils Lake, North Dakota. Prospective bidders are encouraged to visit the work area in order to examine the existing site conditions. Contact the Project Manager at (701) 662-8611 ext. 323 to set up a site visit. B. Contractors are urged to visit the work sites and become familiar with existing conditions. Failure of the Contractor to ascertain the nature, location, and conditions which affect the work will not relieve him from the responsibility for successfully performing the work without additional expense to the Government. GENERAL INFORMATION The estimated magnitude of construction is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The total performance period is 60 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. This acquisition is Full and Open. The NAICS code is 237310 Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction, and the size standard is $33.5 Million. The solicitation package is anticipated to be available electronically on/or about December 4, 2009 with an anticipated closing date of January 8, 2010. Copies of the Request for Proposal, specifications and drawings can be obtained at http://www.fedbizopps.gov once available for issuance.
