- Description
- NASA Goddard has selected Fibertek Inc for the Laser Systems Engineering Services(LSES) contract, NNG09CP09C. This is an Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite QuantityCost-Plus Award Fee contract valued at $35 million. The period of performance is fiveyears. The NAICS Code is 336419 and the Size Standard is 1,000 employees. The estimated value of the task order #7 is $1,000,000. The anticipated period ofperformance is 10 November 2009 to 1 June 2010. NASA Goddard intends to award Task Order #7 to contract NNG09CP09C, IAW the AmericanRecovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, PL 111-5. Task order #7 is Micropulse LaserAltimeter System Data System and Optical Components for Aircraft Instrument Use. Thescope of task order #7 is the development of an aircraft demonstrator/simulatorinstrument for the Ice, Cloud and Land Elevation Satellite 2 (ICESat-2) instrumentrequires data system electronics and transmit/receive optics. The baseline platform forthe ICESat-2 aircraft demonstrator/simulator instrument is a NASA high-altitude researchaircraft to permit evaluation of numerous science and engineering trades. As such, theProject requires an autonomous (i.e., capable of unattended operation) photon-countingdata system suited for such an application and based on existing design (i.e., availableon the shortest possible schedule). This task involves building and delivering anautonomous data system that can be directly integrated with the airborne instrument. This task also involves delivery of optical components and opto-mechanical components forthe instrument. This work will be performed at the contractor's facility. This document and any other related documents to this procurement will be available overthe Internet.
