Description: THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract in accordance to FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source. The Providence VA Medical Center requires the Neptune 2 Rover Ultra & Docking Station Fluid Waste Management System supporting the infection control requirements to safely contain fluid waste during surgical procedures for the new Operating Room Suite. Under statue 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) the Providence VA Medical Center intends to make an award to sole source this equipment to Alliant Healthcare Products. The proposed contract action is for a fluid waste management system that is completely closed with a smoke evacuator built into the frame including advanced features not offered in the current market for surgical waste. The Government negotiated a fair and reasonable price for the Neptune System with the sole distributor which the manufacturer, (Stryker) authorizes as a vendor to sell this equipment. The Government intends to award to only one source (Alliant Healthcare Products) under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The NAICS Code is 339113 and the PSC/FSC is 6640. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation document is available. This notice is current through FAC 2005-37.
