Description
RECOVERY ACT PROJECT: Construction Project No. 656-09-136, entitled "Renovate for Rehab Services, Building 51" at the VA Medical Center, St. Cloud, Minnesota. This solicitation is issued as an IFB (Invitation for Bid) construction project, which is 100% SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS firms. All bidders must be registered on www.ccr.gov and https//orca.bpn.gov by the bid due date. The NAICS code is 236220. Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools and equipment required to completely and satisfactorily finish the aforesaid project. Bids submitted for the Building 51 Renovate for Rehab project shall include but are not limited to the following items: the reconstruction of office space to treatment areas, work stations, waiting areas, exercise area, offices, locker room, mechanical and housekeeping rooms. The project will include a new geothermal HVAC system, plumbing, electrical, data, phone and asbestos abatement as per the specifications and plans. Liquidated damages do apply to this project. Potential offerors to note the OSHA training requirements as listed in the General Requirements section. Work cannot commence until the VA receives proof of required OSHA training. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will ONLY be available on www.fbo.gov. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. NO HARD COPY DOCUMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. All project information will be available free of charge on www.fbo.gov. No bidder's mailing lists are maintained by the Contracting Officer. The interested parties list is available on www.fbo.gov. The estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $500,000 to $1,000,000. NO TELEPHONE QUESTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All questions or inquiries must be submitted via email to wendy.hoeschen@va.gov. The solicitation will be issued on or around December 15, 2009. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for December 29, 2009 at 1PM CST; attendance is not mandatory but strongly encouraged. A public bid opening will be held on January 19, 2010 at 2PM CST when bids are due. Electronic or faxed bids will NOT be accepted. This project requires bidders to secure bonding. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
