- RECOVERY ACT - In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Pub.L. 111-5, The Department of Veterans Affairs at the VA Medical Center, 2501 W 22nd Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57105 is seeking contractors to submit proposals for the Construction of Mental Health offices, Bldg. 1. Project Description: Work shall consist of furnishing all labor, supplies, materials, supervision, transportation, equipment, supervision, and all else to accomplish the following: metal stud framing, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical to completely finish three new offices located at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center. The mechanical consists of reconfiguring existing duct work including balancing the HVAC system. The plumbing consists of extending and modifying the existing fire sprinkler system. The electrical consists of supplying lighting, receptacles, and data/communications for the offices and corridor. The contractor shall follow the furnished plans & specifications. All finishes will match the recently finished "Remodel Mental Health" Project. Construction will take place from 8:00AM to 4:30PM Monday- Friday. Weekends and holiday work needs to be approved by COTR in advance. A preconstruction meeting will be will be scheduled prior to start date. All VA project rules and regulations consisting of patient safety, Infection control, and construction safety must be followed at all times by the contractor. The Project duration is expected to be 90 days from the date of receipt of the notice to proceed. Solicitation documents will be made available in electronic format only through the VA website at: http://www.fbo.gov. It is recommended that companies register as interested vendor list on the website before downloading the solicitation. This procurement is 100% set-aside for SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB). Prospective contractors must be registered and current in the following websites: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov;, http://www.ccr.gov;, and https://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. Technical and Cost Proposals will be accepted from only responsible and responsive contractors The firm must be a General Construction firm approved under NAICS code 236220-size standard is $33.5 million. Bid Bond will be required in the amount of 20% of bid, and Performance and Payment bonds will be required upon award of contract. The estimated dollar value of this procurement is between $100,000. and $250,000. Specifications and drawings will be uploaded on or about December 21, 2009.
