- NOTE this is a RECOVERY project – Initially posted as a Sources Sought Notice on FBO on October 1, 2009 as AG-03J1-S-10-0099 on the Kootenai National Forest’s FBO area. As this project is primarily funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, it is required to be posted under the USFS Intermountain EROC’s area on FBO. As a Recovery project there will be some special clauses and provisions, particularly contractor reporting requirements, that will be in the solicitation<><> GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION:<> The Little Beaver Hazardous Fuels Reduction Project (an IRSC Stewardship) is located on the Cabinet Ranger District of the Kootenai National Forest within the Little Beaver Creek drainage south of the town of Trout Creek, Montana. Hazardous fuels objectives for the project area are summarized as follows: <> Reduce dead and downed fuel accumulations (primary dead Lodgepole pine), ladder fuels and tree canopy density.<><> To accomplish these objectives, the contract will include the following components: <> •Mechanical harvesting of saw and non-sawtimber material •Mechanical fuels reduction •Fire line/fuel break construction: Mechanical and hand •Piling of fuels: Mechanical and hand •Timber removal: saw and non-saw material •Road work: Permanent, reconstruction, and temporary <><> The above components are included as contractual requirements and as mandatory and optional stewardship projects.<> The contract ending date is October 1, 2013.<> The price range for the road construction and reconstruction portion of the project including optional items is between $100,000 and $250,000. <><> PROJECT LOCATION: <> The project area is located approximately 10 miles southeast of Trout Creek in Sanders County, Montana (Portions of Sections 6, 7, 17, 18, 20, T22N, R30W; Portions of Section 13, T23N, R31W; PMM). <><> SOLICITATION INFORMATION:<> The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps (FBO) website on or about December 21, 2009 for viewing and printing. Potential responders are requested to obtain the solicitation from the Internet if at all possible. If unable to successfully obtain the solicitation from the internet, then a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 208-765-7229. Fax requests must reference solicitation number AG-82B1-S-10-0040. Telephone requests will not be honored. Any potential responder requesting a hard-copy solicitation shall have to track the solicitation on FBO and utilize FBO for any amendments. Offers will be due approximately 45 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. <><> AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATION: <> By registering to receive notification on posted notices of synopses such as this, you will be automatically notified via email of the posting of the actual solicitation and any changes to the project such as amendments you may be required to acknowledge. To register, select Register to Receive Notification and follow the steps. Follow the same procedure for EACH project. < ><> INTERESTED VENDORS LIST:<> The Interested Vendors List (IVL) sometimes referred to as he Plan Holder List. Access the IVL for all projects through the FedBizOpps website where you are now. To register as an interested vendor, select Register as an Interested Vendor and follow the steps. Follow this procedure for EACH project of interest besides this particular one.
