Description
The vessel shall serve as host/support ship for at-sea operations conducted by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City (NSWC-PC). At-sea operations shall include deployment and recovery of inert mines and test instrumentation and objects, the tow of surface and submerged vehicles, housing and support of test data acquisition equipment and personnel, deployment and recovery of subsea equipment, Remote Operating Vehicle (ROV) operations, and on-station monitoring. The vessel will be required to follow computer generated track lines while towing sonar’s or other towed systems. The vessel will be required to accurately hold station while subsea equipment is deployed or recovered using the vessel’s crane from its stern. The vessel will be required to hold station while an ROV is being operated. The vessel will operate 90% of the time in the Panama City, FL area, out 60 miles. From time to time it will be required to operate from Corpus Christi, Texas in the Gulf of Mexico to Richmond, Virginia in the Atlantic Ocean out two hundred miles. Operations in the Florida Keys, Bahamas, or other distant locations may also occur, but are not common.
